Bear Lake

We are sure enjoying ourselves here in Utah! In an attempt to catch up on some posts, I will be doing a couple collages per post. We've had so many fun adventures here. Daniel travels often on the weekends with his work (The Color Vibe) so when he is here, we try and make the most of it. The weather here is so nice, we are always outdoors! We've taken two trips to beautiful Bear Lake- The "Caribbean of the Rockies". The first go round was a little chilly, definitely not really "play in the water" time. We drove around a lot exploring the area, endured a picnic on the beach, played in the sand, enjoyed "Famous Raspberry Shakes", hiked the two-mile "Limber Pine Trail", and then on the way home we stopped at a place in Logan Canyon where free horseback riding was available for the kids. Hailey is obsessed with horses so even though its  only a 5 min ride she was in heaven for 5 minutes :)

By the second trip to Bear Lake, we were a little more familiar with the area and we found that the north side of the beach was the place to be! It was nice to park right on the beach. It was also warmer this go round and it was just perfect! Daniel and the kids built a pretty cool sand castle and enjoyed playing in the water. We had a nice picnic lunch, relaxed, napped, played, and of course finished the day with famous raspberry shakes (We're a little hooked :)) We feel pretty lucky to live here in the mountains but yet we have a nice beach within an hours drive. I have a feeling our first winter here may be a bit brutal.. so for now we're just trying to soak up as much warmth and sun as possible! Kind of like animals storing up food for hibernation..only we are storing up warm weather for the winter. Doesn't it work that way? :)
