Last December Jaden lost a tooth, so I guess this year was my turn to lose a tooth. I tripped in the kitchen, and busted one of my front teeth out. Yep, crazy huh.
Okay, heres the real story. I've been having some pain in one of my back teeth so..since we are leaving for CA tomorrow I decided I better have it checked out. I already know how it is to have a bad toothache on vacation and its not fun! But anyways, so I went in and..the good news is that I dont have any new cavities. Just a dead, unrepairable tooth and a bad infection..So I had the tooth extracted, and once the huge gaping whole in my mouth heals I will either have a bridge or an implant put in. The laughing gas was fun, the cost not so much fun. Having a fake tooth by the time Im 23 also not fun. So, all I ask for Christmas this year is a new set of teeth. Thats not asking too much is it?
Alison, are we in this together or what? Me and you both, got unlucky with teeth. Anyone have any good dental insurance recommendations? We have Dental Select, but it doesnt seem too good, all they offer for this procedure is 20% off :-(

I am so so sorry. there is nothing fun about that! yuck I hate teeth, especially because my children inherited ryan's horrendous teeth. He has to have a bridge/implant as well. We've been waiting for that one for over 9 years. We should get around to it. I don't think there is such thing as good dental insurance unfortunately! Don't get my started. Good luck with that.
Sorry, Ashley. We made you good for having babies but we didn't do so good on your teeth.
oh what a pain! Probably too late to change dental insurance, but the least I can recommend is shopping around a little bit for whichever restorative procedure you select. Are there any dental schools in Utah? Students in training often need patients to work on, do a good job (under the supervision of a practicing dentist), and at a low price. We knew a fellow in OKC that was doing his grad work for implants and frequently did procedures for people at a fraction of what regular dentists would charge.
Merry Christmas - you get a new fake tooth...
I'll always be right there with you.... :) Though it is a little depressing to hear that I can still have more problems on the teeth I thought I was done taking care of. But we can make it through even if we both have dentures by the time we're 30! Its all good! Teeth are just teeth...But I feel ya on the financial side. We still need dental insurance too. So we'll share what we find, if you share what you find too... :)
